i’m thankful…

09.27.2023…..Happy Wednesday, everyone! One of my favorite new Stampin’ Up! colors is Bubble Bath. And…one of my favorite suites from the Stampin’ Up! September – December 2023 Mini Catalog is the All About Autumn Suite. So, I decided to pair them together to create this non-traditional fall-themed card. I also added a bit of Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather. I hope this card inspires you to some of your favorite colors to create a card or project that’s a bit unexpected, too!

For this card, I started with Bubble Bath Cardstock, embossed it with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base.

To create each of the leaves on the background, I first stamped the large leaf (from the Autumn Leaves Bundle) in Bubble Bath, stamped “off” once, and used a Sponge Dauber to add a bit of Fresh Freesia to part of the leaf. I then quickly sprayed the stamp with a Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water) and stamped it on Basic White Thick Cardstock. I repeated this process for each individual leaf, quickly cleaning off the stamp in between. Once the paper was dry, I stamped each of the leaf stems in Highland Heather. I then used a Water Painter to splatter water droplets, and dried the paper with a Heat Tool. For the last step, I used White Craft Ink, along with a Water Painter, to splatter white droplets on the paper, then drying the paper with a Heat Tool. Once the paper was completely dry, I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the card base.

The sentiment (from the Autumn Leaves Bundle) was stamped in Highland Heather, on Basic White Thick Cardstock. Tucked underneath the sentiment is a bow created with Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon (cut in half lengthwise) and White Baker’s Twine (with a few threads pulled out). For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on Tinsel Gems and Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels.
