stampin’ up! artisan design team blog hop – in the pines bundle…

10.15.20…..Happy Thursday, everyone! Hope everyone’s had a chance to squeeze in at least a bit of stamping and papercrafting this week!  If you’re already hopping along with us today, you probably just came from Stesha’s blog.  Aren’t her projects gorgeous!?!  If you’ve just started your hop, the Artisan Design Team is featuring projects created with the In the Pines Bundle, from the August – December 2020 Stampin’ Up Mini Catalog!

Not only does this bundle include a stamp set full of images and sentiments…it also includes an awesome coordinating die set! The In the Pines Bundle is absolutely perfect for creating Christmas and Winter projects, but…it will also be great bundle to use all year ’round! The team has some absolutely amazing projects to inspire you today, and you will not want to miss a single one!

Today, I’m sharing a two cards that I created with the In the Pines Bundle! I’ve also included complete instructions underneath each card, so you can scroll right to the card that suits your fancy and start creating!

Let’s start with the larger (5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″) card…

For this card, I started with some Whisper White Cardstock, embossed it with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. I then used some Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, and misted it with my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water). I then used a Water Painter to add some Highland Heather and Magenta Madness.  I misted the paper just a bit more with my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water), then sat back and watched the magic happen. As the colors started to run together, I also added a few more spritzes here and there. After I was satisfied with the results, I used my Heat Tool to dry the paper.  To add the extra little water spots, I dipped my fingertips in a bit of water, and “flicked” them above the paper. This time, I let the paper dry on it’s own, and did not use my heat tool. I also add some speckles with my Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends Marker, by “flicking” the thick end of the marker against the edge of the marker cap, and “flicking” outwards toward the paper.

Once the paper was completely dry, I embossed several pine trees (from the In the Pines Bundle), using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For some extra dimension, I cut out three Whisper White trees, (using the dies from the In the Pines Bundle), and popped them up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment (from the Snow Wonder Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Highland Heather Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder again. After I cut out the sentiment, I popped it up with a couple of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To add some fun texture, I created a bow with some Magenta Madness 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon and Purple Posy ribbon (from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack), and cut both pieces of ribbon in half (vertically). I then layered a slightly larger piece of Whisper White Cardstock underneath, and used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the entire panel to the card base. For a bit of bling, I added some Woven Threads Sequins, Elegant Faceted Gems, and Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes.

Next up is my smaller (4″ x 4″) card…

For this card, I started with some Whisper White Cardstock, embossed it with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. I also add some speckles with my Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends Marker, by “flicking” the thick end of the marker against the edge of the marker cap, and “flicking” outwards toward the paper.

Once the paper was completely dry, I used one of the borders (from Ornate Borders Dies) to die cut the top and bottom edges of the paper. I then embossed several pine trees (from the In the Pines Bundle), using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For some extra dimension, I cut out a Whisper White tree, (using the one of the dies from the In the Pines Bundle), and popped it up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. 1. Your inky background is great – really shows off those gorgeous white trees. The lacy edging from Ornate Borders is a lovey choice too.

  2. Wow! They are beautiful. Particularly like the square card and the use of the Ornate border dies.
