#tgifc288 – going in circles…

10.30.20…..Happy Friday, everyone! It’s already time for another TGIF Challenge! I always have sooooo much fun with our TGIF Challenges! However…this week, I’m super excited because it’s a “Designer Takeover” Challenge, and…I’m the designer! On our last “Designer Takeover”, the amazingly talented Tami Hewlett was the designer, and I can’t wait to see what our other designers have in store for us the near future!

For my challenge, I chose “Going in Circles”, because I always seem to be adding some type of circle(s) to my projects. So…why not fill an entire project with circles…right? I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week, over at TGIF Challenges. We would love to see what you create!

For this card, I started with some Whisper White Cardstock, embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. On top of that, I added some Neutrals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I then stenciled a few large Pool Party circles on another piece of Whisper White Cardstock. (To create the circles, I created my own stencil by die cutting a large circle (with one of the Layering Circle Dies) from a scrap piece of cardstock. I then used a Sponge Dauber, along with some Pool Party to stencil the circles on the cardstock.)

I wanted to add a some tiny circles in the background, so I decided to use the polka dot mask (from the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks). I used a Sponge Dauber, along with my Versamark Pad, to stencil the circles. I then heat-embossed them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I also used my Dark Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends Marker to add some speckling. (To create the speckling, I “flicked” the thick end of the marker against the marker cap, and “flicked” it outward towards my paper.) I then popped up the entire panel with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To add some large pops of color, I cut out three different sized circles from the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, using the Stitched Shapes Dies. The sentiment (from the Whale Done Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on a small piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Before I popped up the sentiment with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, I added some distressed Braided Linen Trim and Pool Party Sheer Ribbon (cut in half vertically). For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on several of the Whale of a Time Sequins, and a few Flowers for Every Season Gems.

Wishing you creativity always,

The 2020-2021 catalog is sooooo jam-packed with soooooo many amazing stamps sets, accessories, and more….and I know your wish list will be overflowing before you know it!
