07.11.21…..Happy Friday, everyone! It’s already time for another TGIF Challenge! So…maybe you’ve already taken one, maybe you’re on one, maybe you’re planning one, maybe you’re just dreaming of one. What are we talking about this week? Well….this week’s TGIF Inspiration Challenge is “Vacation Vibes”! That’s right, my friends…it’s time to create a card with a “vacay’ in mind! We would love to see what you create!
For this card, I started with a some Basic White Thick Cardstock, and adhered it to a Coastal Cabana Cardstock base. I then used some Smoky Slate Cardstock, embossed it with the the new Timber 3D Embossing Folder (available to customers beginning August 3, 2021…from the Stampin’ Up! August-December Mini Catalog), and layered a slightly larger piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock underneath. I adhered the entire panel to the card base, using a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To stamp the mountains, I used the Mountain Air Stamp Set. I stamped the “solid” mountain range in Coastal Cabana (“stamped off” once), then stamped the detailed mountain range in Smoky Slate (also “stamped off” once). I then added some speckling using a Bermuda Bay and a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker. (To create the speckling, I “flicked the thick end of the marker against the inside edge of the marker cap, and “flicked” outward towards the paper.) After I tore off the bottom edge, I layered a small strip of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper underneath, and tore off the bottom edge as well.
To create the large tree, I used a Water Painter to add some Bermuda Bay to a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, then cut out the tree with one of the Majestic Mountain Dies. The two small trees were stamped in Smoky Slate (one of the trees was “stamped off” once), using the Mountain Air Stamp Set. After I cut them out with one of the coordinating Majestic Mountain Dies, I popped them up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment (from the Nothing’s Better Than Stamp Set) was heat-embossed on Basic Black Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I also added a white Baker’s Twine bow. For a bit of bling, I sprinkled on 2021-2023 In Color Jewels, Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels, and a silver Metallic Pearl.
