10.20.2021…..Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today, I wanted to share a card that I created for this month’s Stampin’ Fancy Friday challenge! It is a “color” challenge…..using Real Red, Old Olive, and Coastal Cabana. That being said, Coastal Cabana is definitely one of my fav colors, so I was super excited about this color challenge. I used a Blending Brush to add it to the background, used Old Olive (along with a Water Painter) to color the trees, and for my touch of Real Red, I sprinkled on several of the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Created with the Whimsical Trees Bundle, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, Macrame 3D Embossing Folder, and Scalloped Contours Dies. Hope this color challenge inspires you to create a card or project with some of your favorite techniques and/or products!
For this card, I started with some Kraft Paper, embossed it with the Macrame 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Basic White Thick Cardstock base. Next, I used a Blending Brush to add Coastal Cabana to some Basic White Thick Cardstock, and also added some speckling with my Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Marker. (To create the speckling, I “flicked” the thick end of the marker against the inside edge of the marker cap, and “flicked” outward towards the cardstock.) I then used a few Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to a scalloped rectangle, created with Basic White Thick Cardstock and one of the Scalloped Contours Dies.
To create the trees, I used Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, a Water Painter, and my Old Olive Classic Stampin’ Pad. After the paper was dry, I cut out the trees with one of the dies from the Whimsical Trees Bundle. I also popped them up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment (also from the Whimsical Trees Bundle) was heat-embossed, using my Versamark Pad and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For a extra bit of texture, I added a Linen Thread bow. To add just a touch of bling, I sprinkled on several of the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
Wishing you creativity always,
