06.05.2020…..Happy Friday, everyone! It’s already time for another TGIF Challenge! This week, we have have a wonderful color challenge for you…Crumb Cake, Bumblebee, and Night of Navy! That’s right, my stampin’ friends, it’s time to get colorful and creative…and get inspired along with us! I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week, over at TGIF Challenges. We would love to see what you create!
For this card, I started with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, and adhered it to a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base. To watercolor the background (on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper), I used my Aqua Painter…..along with Night of Navy. I also misted the paper just a bit with my Stampin’ Spritzer (filled with water), before I started watercoloring. As the color started to run together, I also added a few more spritzes here and there. Once the paper was partially dry, I added some speckling with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker. (The speckling was created by “flicking” the thick end of the marker against the edge of the marker cap.) After I was satisfied with the results, I used my Heat Tool to dry the paper. I then layered a slightly larger piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock underneath, and popped it up with a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the Whisper White sunflower, I used one of the dies from the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle, and trimmed off one side of it. The sentiment (also from the Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle) was heat-embossed in Night of Navy Cardstock, using my Versamark Pad and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After I cut it out, I popped it up with a few Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a bit of texture, I added some Bumblebee Gingham Trim, Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, and Linen Thread. To add just a bit of bling, I sprinkled on a few of the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots.
